chia and juiceThe chia seed craze has been going on for a few years now, and I have to admit I am a chia lover. It’s super easy to throw these little guys into everything from salads to a bowl of cereal for a nice boost of fiber, protein, calcium, antioxidants, omega-3s, and more.

Many people also make “chia gel” to drink. It has an interesting texture, but a few gulps of chia gel in the morning is a great way to start the day!

  • Chia seeds (the typical amount is 2-3 Tbsp per cup of liquid)
  • Your favorite 100% juice

1. Put your chia seeds in a container. You can use pretty much any container, but I always use something with a lid, either a tupperware container or a sealable bottle so I can grab my gel and go in the morning.

2. Add your 100% juice and seal the lid.

3. Give it a good shake and throw it in the fridge. That’s it! You’ll have a decent gel within 15-20 minutes, but I like to leave it overnight, periodically shaking the mixture up if I think about it.
