cheeseIt’s Monday morning and the beginning of a new set of challenges and tips on how to Lighten Up! This week’s focus is on dairy and grains, ready to begin! Ready or not, here we go!

#15: Make sure your portion sizes are correct! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again! 1 serving size of dairy is 1 cup of milk or yogurt, 1.5 oz of natural cheese or 2 oz. of processed cheese. Dairy is great because there are so many ways to get it, but it can be tricky because it has a tendency to have a lot of fat, so stay tuned this week for tips on how to Lighten Up with dairy! But for now, remember your portion size! In other words, it’s not okay to eat an entire block of cheese in one sitting…no matter how good it is!
